(8vo), original blindstamped cloth, spine lettered in gilt with vignette of whaling ship, rebacked with original spine cloth laid down, endpapers replaced. Early Edition. First published in 1846. Browne's keen eye and perceptive writing make this one of the most accessible works on the American whaling industry.
