The album includes a rare photograph of the young explorer Wilfred Thesiger in a top hat with the Duke of Gloucester and the rest of the British delegation to the Coronation on the steps of the British legation in Addis Ababa. Thesiger is shown standing next to Captain (later Major) E.O. Springfield (the compiler of this album) who was comptroller to the Governor General of Sudan.
