An edition of the Catoptrica was published in Strassburg in 1557; the priority of the two editions is unknown. Euclid's Optica was the first Greek work on perspective. The Catoptrica, a treatise on mirrors, was attributed by Proclus to Euclid but is a later compilation. Latin translations of both works appeared previously in Georgius Valla's massive compendium De expetendis et fugiendis rebus opus (Venice: Aldus, 1501). Adams E-1020.
