Family Hour - original ink drawing Author: Bukowski, Charles Place Published: Los Angeles Date Published: 1963 Description: Original ink drawing on paper. 22.5x27 cm (9x10"); with original hand-addressed mailing envelope. Signed, titled and dated by Charles Bukowski in the bottom right corner: "'Family Hour' - / Charles Bukowski / 8-26-63." Rare early original ink drawing by Bukowski depicting a couple seated at a table (the woman topless), with a small naked man (child?) beneath, as well as an animal that could be either a small dog or a large rat, with what appears to be a trail of blood leading to the male figure. Surreal and a bit disturbing. Housed in the original envelope addressed in Bukowski's hand, sent from his Los Angeles Mariposa Ave. address to poet/editor Kirby Congdon. Condition: Wear to outer envelope with toning/foxing and some tears; drawing very good or better with mild wear, light toning and a few faint stains.
