A painted tool chest in mixed woods of walnut, pine, maple and mahogany veneers, exterior case of dovetailed construction with applied molding and iron bail handles, the hinged rectangular paneled surface opening up to a inlaid interior, underneath side of surface with large compass design flanked by two ovals and banding perimeter cased in a maple molding, case interior consisting of two hinged lift top compartments on brass slides, all decorated with banding inlay and ivory escutcheons, saw till decorated depicting an opposing federal home with an attached structure, central dragooned mirror is surrounded by seven fitted dovetailed with porcelain pulls; ht. 24, wd. 39.5, dp. 23 in. Condition: Item is in good condition. Has paint loss throughout with age. Some popping to mahogany veneer and inlay over age.
