One of the lavish books of painting designs for buildings produced in the 1880s in the manner of John Lucas and Company. First edition. A famous book, this is considered to be one of the best of the several 19th century house paint pattern book / trade catalogues, and also the rarest; it was reprinted in facsimile by the Athenaeum of Philadelphia by Samuel J. Dornsife in 1976.
