FLACHAT, Stephane. L'Industrie. Exposition in 1834. Paris: Henri Dupuy, [1834]. 4 o. 39 plates including engraved title-page. Contemporary mottled calf (rubbed). The superior edition with 39 plates; the standard French edition has 20 plates. This was the first exhibition for which temporary buildings were specially designed and constructed. The illustrations show some of the buildings, as well as the contents of the exhibitions including clocks, bronzes, furniture, vases, porcelain, rugs, fabrics, draperies, gold and silver work as well as steam engines, mill wheels and looms. [ Bound with: ] FLACHAT. Traité élémentaire de méchanique industrielle Paris: L. Tenré, 1835. 4 o. 23 engraved folding plates. A continuation of Flachat's previous work.
