[Flemish school] Virgin with Child & St Michael. 1st half 18th c Drawing, pen and brown ink, grey wash, 19,5 x cm, laid paper, unsigned (heavily toned, several stains). Under passe-partout. Nice study sheet with Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child, the latter who is piercing a snake. On the verso side a drawing by the same hand depicting St Michael conquering the dragon. Both symbolise Christianity defeating Evil. Possibly a study sheet for a sculpture group.
