Roth regularly placed text interventions in the Anzeiger Stadt Luzern und Umgebung among the paper's usual advertisements. Lines such as 'An airplane it is an evil word' were not appreciated by the readers, so the newspaper cancelled the campaign. In 1973 Dieter Roth published all his 248 aphorisms in Das Tranenmeer.
