Letterpress title, index, 110 HAND-COLOURED AQUATINT PLATES by Dubourg, Merke and Southerland after Howitt, J. H. Clark, Atkinson and Manskirch. (Some light offsetting, a few plates with marginal finer-soiling, one or two spots to text, text leaf for "Spanish Bull Fighting No. 1" frayed at margins.) Contemporary straight-grained purple morocco, covers with foliate border in gilt and blind, spine gilt in six compartments, lettered in one (cracks to head of back joint, corners bumped). Provenance : Alexander Browne of Callaly Castle (armorial bookplate). Second edition. Abbey Travel 3; Schwerdt I, p. 179; Tooley 225 (requires a half-title).
