FOUR OFFICERS' VICTORIAN POUCHES The first signed W.P., 1877, the others circa 1880 A cavalry officer's pouch, probably for an Yeomanry regiment, of black leather with slightly bombé rectangular silver flap with foliate engraved border and mounted with gilt crowned VR cypher, the top of pouch embellished with silver embroidery; a pouch of similar style, also of black leather, with silver-plated copper flap with engraved border and mounted with VR cypher (suspension loops and lining defective); an officer's pouch, possibly of the Straits Settlements Police or other British/Indian or Colonial police force, of black leather with blue velvet-faced (now almost devoid of pile) flap, edged with silver embroidery and inscribed SSP beneath the Victorian Crown; and a small patent leather pouch, with flap mounted with Prince of Wales's plumes device in gilt metal (closure tab and stud and one of the small brass suspension-loops missing, back partly unstitched) (4)
