Autograph pastoral letter initialled ('G: F:') entitled 'Fox the Quarterly Mens & Womens Meting (sic) in London or Elswhare (sic)', Gooses, 29 October 1689 , beginning 'All Friends - Strive to kepe in amity in y . holy Spirit of Christ which is y . bond of y . heavenly peace & that you Elders may be Examples of y . heavenly wisdom', 1½ pages, folio (slightly soiled). -- STRYPE, John (1643-1737). Autograph letter signed to Ralph Thoresby in Leeds, Low Leyton, 1707 , acknowledging the receipt of a letter and awaiting another, mentioning the subscribers for his Annals and 'It wil not be long now ere we put this Work into the Press', referring to other correspondents and criticising Stow's 'Survey of London', one page, folio , address on verso. -- BURNET, Gilbert, bishop of Salisbury (1643-1715). Autograph letters signed ('Gi Sarum') to Francis Fox, Salisbury, 20 April 1709 , recommending alterations to the parsonage at Boscombe, one page, 4to , integral blank (slightly browned). -- WATTS, Isaac (1674-1748). Autograph letter signed ('I Watts') to an unnamed correspondent ('Sir'), [Stoke] Newington, 16 November 1739 , apologising for the delay in making a visit of condolence, and warmly praising the virtues of widower's late wife, 2 pages, small 4to , integral blank. -- WARBURTON, William, bishop of Gloucester (1698-1779). Four autograph letters signed, the first ('W. Warburton'), to [Thomas] Newton (later bishop of Bristol), Prior Park, 22 December 1754 , expressing thanks for the gift of the first volume of 'Dissertions on the Prophesies', and inquiring if he has referred to certain other authors, one page, 8vo , integral address leaf (seal tear repaired); the remainder to unidentified correspondents (2 'Dear Sir', 1 'My dear Lord'), P[rior] P[ark], 9 August 1767 - 9 July 1769 , the first acknowledging receipt of a packet, the second referring to his entertainment reading Lord Littleton's book and Walpole's observations on Richard III, and of his intention of a bequest to Lincoln's Inn, the last apologising for not attending the confirmation of the Bishop of Bath due to ill-health, 3½ pages, 8vo and 4to . -- (8)
