Freddie Mercury's Rolls-Royce bomber jacket, worn off stage whilst touring, 1977
the metallic silver bomber jacket with two slit pockets, black knitted collar, cuffs and hem and black quilted lining, the right sleeve decorated with black fabric stripes, the wider of the two running vertically from collar to elbow embroidered ‘ROLLS ROYCE’ in large silver lurex-thread letters and with the Rolls Royce logo `RR’ at the elbow; a black cloth patch similarly embroidered with the Rolls Royce logo in ‘silver’ and stitched to left breast, and a woven Union Jack cloth badge stitched to upper left sleeve, the right cuff and lining inside left of zipped opening with two different style manufacturer’s woven labels ‘WATKINS’;with a pair of black velvet trousers embellished with diamanté in an elaborate shooting-star pattern, the front and back pocket edges and belt loops embroidered with double and triple rows of diamanté, both front pockets with three five-point crystal encrusted white metal stars joined by a single curved line of diamanté, like the path of a comet, the trouser legs similarly decorated, labelled on the back waistband ‘Peter Golding, London’;also with a white cotton T-shirt labelled inside ‘St. Michael..Small’;also with a plain black woven ‘silk’ scarf decorated with a long tasselled fringe
