Rome: Giacomo Mascardi, 1623. 4° (215 x 158mm). Engraved title-page, portrait of Galileo, woodcut initials and headpiece, engraved diagrams in text. Without 4 leaves of preliminary verses present in some issues. (Minor marginal repairs in first four leaves, occasional spotting and browning, repairs to some leaves.) Early vellum, title to spine and bottom edges in early manuscript (minor worming to upper panel, spine lightly soiled). Provenance : Luca degli Albizzi (ownership inscription to title-page, copious notes and corrections in brown ink throughout).
