Contemporary calf, title printed in red and black, 4 woodcut plates of constellations, numerous woodcut illustrations and diagrams, cover and free front endpaper detached, chipping to lower corners of first few leaves, browning throughout. Provenance : Ephraim Ludlow (ink gift inscription on free front endpaper dated 1771). THIRD EDITION, FIRST PUBLICATION IN ENGLAND of these classic astronomical texts by Galileo and Kepler.
