Lotte Jacobi (1896-1990) was a German photographer who immigrated to the United States to escape Nazi Germany. Edward Steichen (1879-1973) was an American photographer, painter, with a pictorialist approach in photography. He was considered by many the finest photographer of the 20th century and holds the current record for a photograph which sold for $2.5 million. Provenance: Ex James E.
