An extensive archive of the NASA Public Affairs Office Space Photographic Pool, which includes: -The Cooperation Agreement of the NASA Public Affairs Space Photographic Pool, dated 07/16/1965 as well as five Gemini 5 Press Kits. -224 color positives on Kodak Safety film containing images of various aspects of the Gemini program, including not only official press shots, but also candid photos of the astronauts engaging in activities such as shaving, training, having meals, etc, 4¾ x 3¾ inches, nearly all in the original sleeves stamped "Positive" and "INSP RCA 4". -Approximately 200 sheets of contact negatives from the Gemini program. -Approximately 300 black & white press photographs from the Gemini and early Apollo programs, many in the original NASA envelopes. -Numerous color photolithograph portraits of the Gemini astronauts. The NASA Public Affairs Space Photographic Pool was a non-profit organization, which received support from NASA including use of government facilities and equipment, use of film under government direction, and received photographic positions on government installations. Membership in the pool was available to accredited press and publication media on a paid basis, with various levels of membership. The fees charged were pooled together to cover the operating expenses of the Pool. It consisted of five members: National Geographic, World Book Science, United Press International, the Associated Press, and Life Magazine.
