W.L.Bowles' Strictures on the Life and Writings of Pope, first edition, ?first issue without the 4 additional leaves at end, lacking the 8pp. advertisements at end, small abraded patch to title with loss to two letters, 1821; another edition, third edition, lacking the 2 unnumbered leaves at end but with 8pp. advertisments dated April 1821 not called for by Wise (?possibly from first mentioned work although he calls for advertisements to be dated March 1821 in first issue, and a pencil note at beginning mentions advertisements dated March 1821 also in second issue and November in third edition), some light spotting, bookplate of Lord Carlingford on front pastedown, later dark green straight-grained morocco, spine gilt, t.e.g., slightly rubbed at edges,1821, [Wise II pp. 34 & 36; Randolph p.72], 8vo, John Murray
