GILT EDGED LEATHER BOUND DIARY/SCRAPBOOK 1895-1914 complied by Marjorie Taylor (nee Tillard) the daughter of Iona Mary Bonham-Carter, fully decorated pages including period photographs (some of full bleed) ,ink and pencil drawings, detailed and accomplished watercolour scenes, handwritten inserts and verse, mounted salmon and trout flies, menu and dance cards . A fascinating document from the second half of the Belle Epoque giving an account of the life of a young society Lady in the Victorian/Edwardian years leading up to the eve of World War I. Subjects include Henley Regatta , early hockey and cricket inter-house matches, polo, and Mahseer fishing in India, salmon and pike fishing in Ireland and on the Helmsdale in Scotland, country houses, early motor cars, animals and military history
