GORDON HOUSE A painted wooden dolls' house with central section of three bays and four stories, flanked by wings of two stories, each with two rooms, the left section formed as a glazed conservatory with grape-house above, the right with three side windows and kitchen door, opening in three sections to reveal three central rooms, two side rooms, interior glass doors to the greenhouses, original wallpapers, chimney breasts, Marklin fireplaces, gilt framed overmantle mirrors, and hand-worked carpets - 61in. 155cm. high, 41½in. 105cm. wide and 19¼in. 49cm. deep (exterior overpainted at an early date) The Furnishings include The Bedroom English half-tester bed and bedding; rare Waltershausen transfer printed dressing table; similar washstand with tap over bowl; green painted tin washing set; metal ink stand; all bisque boy; leather aide memoir with gold mounts; glass chandelier; metal pedestal with milk glass bowl The Drawing Room A rare set of drawing room furniture with elaborate bronzed metal mounts upholstered in silk brocade; an unusual English clockwork piano (inoperative); a Waltershausen globe; family photographs of the Gordon family, including one of Lillian; an all-bisque doll with jointed neck and glass eyes; a white metal fender, fire-irons and coal scuttle; a photograph album of Tom Thumb The Dining Room A pair of all-bisque child dolls with jointed necks and arms; a rare set of one-eighth scale furniture of "bronzed" soft metal moulded with lillies of the valley, violets and other flowers (some damage) ; a parrot on a perch; a red and white china coffee service; a Waltershausen bonheur du jour; a pair of blue glass and metal flower vases; an Avery coat scuttle The Day Nursery Nanny and baby; fretwork furniture; pedestal lamp; longcase clock; and pair of vases The Kitchen Metal range with tap and oven; built in copper, sink, plate rack and dresser with drawers filled with linen; painted turned wood dinner service; two jointed wood servants with composition heads; and pottery jugs The Conservatory Artificial flowers and leaves hung with glass drops; two needle holders formed as folding chairs probaby English ; a brass Buddha; and potted plants The Grape House Artificial vines and peach trees; a Nuremburg feather bird on a wirework garden seat; a goldfish bowl on stand with elaborately decorated base; chicken-bone chairs; and chinese pottery figures See Back Cover and Illustrations
