Tall, narrow 8vo, original light green cloth decorated in a gilt water and willow leaf design, uncut, designed by Charles Ricketts, spine slightly darkened, rear cover a little soiled, upper fore-corners bumped, natural discoloration to free endpapers. FIRST EDITION, no. 94 of 250 copies bound in cloth of an edition of 275. The Turn of the Century 8; Taylor, The Art Nouveau Book in Britain , p. 82; see Ray English , pp. 161-62. Oscar Wilde is said to have financed the publication of Silverpoints , considered Ricketts's most successful trade book and one of the most characteristic books of the Nineties. Armorial bookplate of Cecil W. Boyle.
