They are excellent and I prize them.” He would mention them in his “Notes” in the Ex Libris Society Journal. Hettie Gray Baker was a Hollywood woman pioneer film editor at Fox studios; in 1930, she wrote the first book on the bookplates of Hollywood film stars and directors. This collection of her own bookplates includes descriptive comments by the Secretary of the American Society of Bookplate Collectors and Designers. The 11 bookplate reproductions were removed from the 1911 Limited Edition of Clifford Carver’s "Book-plates of Well-known Americans", 1 of 250 copies by the Princeton University Press.
