Title: Hand-written deed from the Iowa Railroad Company to the Iowa Central Railroad Company, signed by A.B. Stickney and others Author: Stickney, A.B., President Place: New York Publisher: Iowa Railroad Company Date: 1888 Description: 15 vellum leaves written on recto (except one near end written on both sides). Leaves measure 16x10½"; plus printed outer cover sheet, states: Contract No. 4229 Between Iowa Central Railway Co. and The Minneapolis & St. Louis R.R. Co. (apparently ICR partnered with Minn. & St. Louis RR Co.). Interesting early Iowa Railroad indenture, showing a transfer of ownership to the Iowa Central Railroad Company, who in turn partnered with the Minneapolis & St. Louis R.R. Co. Signed by most of the major people involved, including A.B. Stickney who was President of the ICR from 1886 to 1890, also by several witnesses and the Public Notary official, Robert C. Wight, James A. Flack (New York County Clerk), I.R.T. O'Connor (County Clerk of Ramsey, MN) and the various County Recorders of Iowa. Plus the official of the IR Co. and the states of Minnesota and New York. Prepared by Foster & Thomson, 52 Wall St., New York. Lot Amendments Condition: Original folds, light soiling; else near fine.
