Decorated manuscript and typescript signed, 'Fünf Gedichte von H.H.', comprising 'Manchmal', 'Einsamer Abend', 'Die Kindheit', 'Nacht' and 'Dem Ziel entgegen', the poems typed on the second rectos of bifolia, the first rectos with vignettes in pen, ink and watercolour, approx 60 x 60mm, above calligraphic titles in autograph, altogether 10 pages, 4to (170 x 120mm) , on five bifolia, loose as issued in original blue card wrappers titled 'HERMANN HESSE' in letterpress, inscribed in autograph inside upper cover with title and 'Dank für Siamesisches' inside lower cover

Hesse') to the pianist Rudolf Serkin, Montagnola and n.p., May 1959 and n.d., thanking Serkin for the gift of recordings, referring to poems sent in exchange, and inviting Serkin to visit him in Montagnola ('But I know well the mad rush in which one lives on concert tours'), together 3½ pages, 4to (minor rodent damage); [ and ] a collection of 8 limited edition and privately-printed volumes by Hesse, signed and inscribed to Serkin in various forms ('Dem lieben Klavierspieler von seinem H. Hesse', 'Dem lieben Meister Serkin! H. Hesse', 'Herzlich grüsst H.H.' etc.), comprising: Rückblick. Ein Fragment aus der Zeit um 1937 (Montagnola: 'Privatdruck', 1952, Mileck III, 217a), Geburtstag. Ein Rundbrief ([Montagnola: the author], 1952, Mileck III, 211), Das Lied von Abels Tod ([n.p.: n.d., envelope postmarked 18 November 1953, Mileck III, 308a), Engadiner Erlebnisse.
