First in the series of Baudelaire's famous translations of the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Poe's great influence in France (not the least part of which was on Baudelaire's own poetry) was heavily indebted to these translations. Comprises 14 stories by Poe, preceded by his biography. Handsome, finely bound copy. With the decorative bookplate of Romero Martinez. Lot Amendments Condition: Light wear to boards with rubbing to extremities; scattered light foxing; very good.
