FIRST EDITIONS, general half-title, 2 titles with engraved vignettes, 133 engraved plates of naval manoeuvres and one of ensigns in vol. 1, 11 folding plates of diagrams in vol. 2, engraved head-piece vignettes and historiated initials. Loosely inserted at end are two folio leaves from an English work of the period, one (p. 15-16) listing "Sailing Instructions and Signals by Night", and the other "Additional Signals to be made by the Ships of War to the Commander in Chief" (p. 31-32).
