Howells, Herbert. AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT OF "LAMBERT'S FIRESIDE" signed and dated by the composer at the end ("H.H. The Croft. 14 May 1926"), with autograph title ("Lambert's Fireside"), notated in blue-black ink on three two-stave systems per page, with a few erasures, on 2 pages, oblong 8vo (15.3 x 23.4cm), part of a musical notebook ("The Clavichord Book"), with transcriptions by other hands, including Thurza Lambert, of pieces by Bach, Byrd, Dowland, Bull, and others, some added on manuscript paper, printed wrappers with an additional decorative cover laid down, Howells's manuscript dated "The Croft, [Combe Down, Bath] 14 May 1926"; together with two first edition copies of Howells's "Lambert's Clavichord", Op. 41, London and New York: O.U.P, 1928, nos. 1 and 87 of 175 signed copies, the frontispiece portrait of Howells signed ("Herbert Lambert"), 45 pages each, original quarter cloth
