Isabey (Jean Baptiste, 1767-1855), Attributed to. Portrait of Marie Eustachine Jeanne d'Osmond (1827-1899), pencil on wove paper, dated 'le 22 8 1827', and bears [?] later signature 'Isabey' in the lower right corner, presented in mount with contemporary inscription naming the sitter, 125 x 150 mm. (5 x 5 7/8 in), laid onto album leaf, some spotting and browning, mounted but unframed, 1827 Provenance: Originally from an album containing original drawings by French artists, including Isabey, Pierre Francois Eugene Giraud, Le Poitevin, and Auguste Caron See lot 198 ⁂ Isabey painted a portrait of the young Eustachine Jeanne d'Osmond in 1828, and this portrait bears numerous similarities to the present drawing; the painting was sold at Sotheby's Paris in 2015 (see 'Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle', 17th June 2015, lot 79). It has been recorded that each summer, Isabey would visit the d'Osmond family's château de Pontchartrain near Rambouillet, where he painted portraits of his hosts.
