Accordian-type album, in Japanese cloth-covered board covers, 99 prints comprised of 9 triptychs and 72 single sheets, some with burnishing, gauffrage or mica: 8 triptychs from the series Chiyoda no oku (Private quarters of the Imperial Palace), signed Yoshu Chikanobu , published by Fukuda Kumajiro (Fukuda Hatsujiro); another triptych of two seated and elaborately-dressed beauties with a seated man, similarly signed; 12 sheets from the series Kabuki juhachiban (The Kabuki eighteen), a collection of plays established by the actor Ichikawa Danjuro VII, signed Torii Kiyosada ga ; 15 sheets from the series Baiko hyakushu no uchi (One hundred roles of [the actor Ogami] Baiko), signed Toyohara Kunichika ga ; title page and 22 sheets from the series O Edo shibai nenchu gyoji (Annual events in the theaters of Great Edo), signed Ginko ; 14 sheets, half-length beauty portraits, signed Yoshu Chikanobu ; 6 sheets, bust portraits of beauties with landscape reserves above, signed as above; 1 sheet, standing beauty and her maid, signed Toshikata ; one sheet, standing woman near bucket, signed Gekko ; along with Shokoku meisho fukei (Famous landscapes of the various provinces), a book of modern facsimiles of landscape prints from various series, by Hiroshige and Hokusai-generally good impressions and color, some in album soiled, some stained, trimmed to images, laid down, some pages splitting oban tate-e : 34.8 x 22.5cm., accordion-type album oban yoko-e : 25 x 36.7cm., book of facsimiles
