DARK BLUE MOROCCO BY HARDY, COVERS GILT BLOCKED WITH SCROLLS WITH FLORAL AND FOLIATE TOOLS WITHING TRIPLE GILT FILLET, SPINE LAVISHLY GILT IN COMPARTMENTS, INNER GILT DENTELLES, G.E. PROVENANCE : UNIDENTIFIED COLLECTION STAMP ON TITLE; H. GALLICE (BOOKPLATE); MARCEL JEANSON (BOOKLABEL). A FINE COPY OF THE RARE FIRST EDITION published after the author's death, and contains his poetry and plays. Among the former is Ode de la Chasse , dedicated to Charles IX, which according to Thiébaud 520 deserves a place among the works on hunting. Among the plays are included the first French tragedy, Cléopatre captive and the first comdey Eugène . Tchemerzine VI-274-275; Rothschild 696; Souhart 262-263.
