(25.5 x 20.0 cm), trimmed to an oval, in a carved period frame. Condition: Fine, stable craquelure, minor surface grime. Provenance: Acquired by Aaron Augustus Healy (1850-1921), by family descent to the current owner. N.B. Aaron Augustus Healy was president of the Board of Trustees of the Brooklyn Institute, the forerunner of the Brooklyn Museum, for 25 years. The Healys lived at 26 South Oxford Street in Brooklyn for several generations from 1840-1946.
