(11½ x 8½ in.) including mount. A striking half-length portrait of the author, seated at a table with his head resting on one hand and holding a cigar in the other, signed on the mount. "Kipling was England's answer to Jack London: a flamboyant, well-travelled, and enormously popular literary figure. His poems and novels set in his native India, including 'Gunga Din' and The Jungle Book, were particular favorites"--W.M.
