LAURO, Giacomo (fl. 1584-1637). Roma antiqua triumphatrix ab antiquis monumentis et rerum gestarum memoriis eruta . Rome: Giovanni Giacomo de Rossi [before 1677]. Bird's-eye plan of ancient Rome printed from two engraved copperplates, on two median sheets joined, overall 510 x 760mm (engraving 478 x 725mm). Showing the city set within an engraved border of text, inset scenes, maps, and keys. (Some light discolouration along join, old folds with occasional unobtrusive tear.) A fine view of ancient Rome reconstructed, by the celebrated Roman engraver Giacomo Lauro The engraved text and inset scenes illustrating significant moments in the history of ancient Rome, whilst the two small maps depict the seven hills of Rome. Frutaz XXVII, stating that 'la nostra pianta figura nell'Indice della stamperia del De Rossi del 1677.'; Huelsen 107; Arrigoni and Bertarelli 77; watermark not legible.
