Comprising all the Poems written by Walt Whitman following the Arrangement of the Edition of 1891-'2 Author: Whitman, Walt Place Published: New York Publisher: Random House Date Published: 1930 Description: Numerous woodcut illustrations by Valenti Angelo. (Folio) 36.8x25 cm (14½x9¾"), original half red morocco & wood boards. No. 303 of 400 copies printed by Edwin and Robert Grabhorn. The finest printing of Whitman’s Leaves of Grass and a masterwork of the Grabhorn Press. Taking over a year to print, "The tremendous impression necessary to print this book so strained the press that the printers suggested the colophon should read: '400 copies printed and the press destroyed'" (Grabhorn Bibliography I). GB 138. Condition: Some rubbing to joints and spine ends; free endpaper with normal offset from the wooden boards, slight darkening to page edges; very good or better, internally quite clean.
