Text printed in red, two plates printed in blue and two illustrations printed in red, all after Fernand Léger (Two text leaves over-inked, light yellowing to half-title, blank verso of last leaf, and edges.) Original wrappers, front cover with a Léger illustration in blue and with a pochoir in yellow (browned, very short tears near edges); blue morocco clamshell case, unsigned but by Cambras, lettered with yellow onlays, protected in a blue cloth case. FIRST EDITION OF THE FIRST BOOK ILLUSTRATED BY LEGER. One of 26 hors commerce copies, this one lettered T, from an edition totalling 355 copies only. An intensely direct and compelling collaboration between the two men, who had both fought in the war of 1914-1918.
