Frankfurt and Leipzig: Michael Rohrlachs, 1709. 8° (170 x 105mm). Engraved frontispiece, 3 folding maps and 28 plates of exotic fish, animals and people. (Some light browning, contemporary marginalia). Contemporary blind-stamped vellum, clasps. FIRST GERMAN EDITION. Now generally accepted as a spurious account, this remains a valuable source best known for its description of the Island of Rodriguez taken from earlier works and was reprinted by the Hakluyt Society, Howgego L109.
