A long letter handwritten and signed by the Novominsk Rebbe Yehuda Aryeh Perlow, who signed "Yehuda Aryeh son of my father the Holy Rebbe of Novominsk". Saratoga (USA), 1941. The letter was sent to his brother's son-in-law Rabbi David Moshe Shapira the Rebbe of Gvozdetz – Sadigura [his wife Alta was the eldest daughter of the Rebbe of Bialatchov Rebbe Shlomo Chaim Perlow]. On the reverse side of the leaf is a letter in the handwriting of his wife the rebbetzin who writes in Yiddish to her niece "Rebbetzin Alti'le". Rebbe Yehuda Aryeh Leib Perlow (1877-1961), the second son of Rebbi Ya'akov Perlow of Novominsk. Son-in-law of Rabbi David Twersky of Makarov – Chernobyl. In 1902, he began serving as a young Rebbe and Rabbi of the village of Vlodava. He was ordained as a "posek" by leading rabbis including Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik of Brisk and Rabbi Yoav Yehoshua Weingarten, author of "Chelkat Yo'av". After wandering throughout World War I, he settled in Lublin and in 1924 immigrated to the US where he became famous as the Novominsker Rebbe. His books are "Lev Aryeh" (Jerusalem 1933) and "Kol Yehuda" (NY 1946). Official stationary, 2 pp. 28 cm. Good condition, folding marks and ink stains.
