Carter (ownership inscription), gifted to; A.N.L. Munby (gift inscription and ANS from Carter, bookplate). TWO VOLUMES OF AUCTION CATALOGUES FROM THE SALE OF NOTORIOUS BOOK & MANUSCRIPT THIEF, GUGLIELMO LIBRI. ONE A PRESENTATION COPY, THE OTHER OWNED BY THREE CAMBRIDGE LIBRARIANS. Even though Libri had been sentenced in France, in absentia, for his outrageous book thefts, he was accepted in England as the victim of French prejudice and was able to live the high life off the sale of his books.
