Photogravure portrait and 421 chromolithographic plates finished by hand, almost all after Archibald Thorburn and J.G. Keulemans. (Occasional very light foxing in volumes VI and VII). Green half morocco by Morrell, compartments of spine panelled in gilt, top edges gilt, original wrapper of part 1 bound in at the the beginning of volume I. Lilford's important work on British birds, the set made up of first editions of volumes I-IV & VII, and second editions of volumes V & VI.
