LONGEPIERRE, Bernard de Requeleyne Baron de (1659-1721) -- PORTALIS, Baron Roger. Bernard de Requeleyne Baron de Longepierre (1659-1721). Avant-propos par Stéphen Liégrand . Paris: Henri Leclerc, 1905. Large 8 o. Title printed in red and black; small block of the Golden Fleece used to mark paragraphs throughout the text. Photogravure frontispiece of Longepierre's portrait of Troy, and large two-sided facsimile folding plate. Light-brown half levant morocco, marbled paper sides, smooth spine lettered in gilt, double set of original printed wrappers bound in (one set printed in black and red, the other, decoratively printed in gold on blue paper), uncut, by L. Lemardeley (i.e. Huser). Portalis's authoritative biography, together with the catalogue of his library listing 189 titles, of Baron de Longepierre who had all his bindings decorated on spines, sides and doublures with repeated impressions of the stamp of the Golden Fleece. Although there is no indication as to the number of copies printed, the edition, printed on handmade paper, must have been very limited. Not in Schmidt-Künsemüller.
