Beschreibung:

Two maps, on both sides of single sheet. Printed in red & black. Sheet measures 71x42.5 cm (28x16¾"), folding. Map from the glory years of Beverly Hills, and the boom of Los Angeles, with mega-stars Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford finishing their mansions in 1921, to be followed by many others. In 1923 the usual solution, annexation to the city of Los Angeles, was proposed. Many famous residents mobilized local voters against the plan, and annexation was defeated. This was a free map given out by Security Trust & Savings Bank. The titles of the two maps are: Security Trust & Savings Bank Automobile Road Map of the Los Angeles Region / Map of the District Los Angeles to the Sea. The road map of the L.A. region is copyrighted 1927, the street map of the western towns copyrighted 1928; with code 5-28 - 25M indicating publication in 1928. The Wisconsin Historical Society offers the only listing of the map in OCLC, for two copies, but evidently duplicate listings of a single copy.
