T/w an empty cardboard powder box for "Pompeia", with the same orange graphics of the Grecian lady, small labels on the box underside showing the powder colour to be "Blanche" and the weight 110 grams, and another Piver box, this time for a perfume bottle but empty, "Azurea", launched in 1901 . Combined with a fan advertising "Royal Origan, Parfum-Ultra Subtil", a product of the department store Galeries Lafayette with branches in London, Nice and Lyon. The recto has a dramatic black and orange orientalist design, featuring exotic pagoda shaped headwear, an extravagant parasol, and a lady seated cross legged in Buddha pose. Signed and dated '23 to the left. Probably Jean Gabriel Domegue (1889-1962). Note the shiny finish to the recto. Overall height 9 and 5/8 inches or 24.5cm (4) Condition Report: . Soap wrapper very slightly crumpled at the corners, graphics clear and clean, slight rubbing to the gold seal on the back. The powder box would benefit from cleaning inside but is generally sound, edges a little scuffed. The Azurea box is sound but scuffed. Underneath the blue paper is torn where a sticky label has been removed. The fan is in fair condition with a tear centrally to the bottom edge of the leaf (no loss), nicks to all the top folds and crumpled to the top edge. ARR: Categories: Fans
