Lot of 5. 1 - An 1843 document detailing a foreclosure agreement made between two parties in Mississippi. The document details how the sale of the slave "Lucinda" will be used to offset debts owed by a defendant, "...it is further ordered, ajudged and decreed, that the negro woman named Lucinda in the said indenture of mortgage described be sold at public auction to the highest bidder for cash, and that the proceeds arising from the sale shall be applied to the payment of the said sum of six hundred and twenty-nine dollars and sixty-five cents...." 2 - A partially printed receipt made out to Giles Saunders for $185 being in full for the purchase of a Negro Slave named Willis .... The receipt is signed by Washington B. Carris By John W. Carris and is dated Richmond, December 30, 1846. 3 - A partially printed receipt made out to G. Saunders for $290 being in full for the purchase of one Negro Slave named Caroline.... The receipt is signed by Richard H. Coleman By R. W. Dickinson Atty and is dated Richmond, March 29, 1848. 4 - A partially printed receipt, appearing to show $342 taxes paid in 1860 To the Sheriff Frederick County [MD]. Made out to Mr. T. William Dunn Slave reference with no dollar amount indicated. 5 - Manuscript document describing the "List of Lands Lots of ground with the improvements Dwelling Houses and Slaves owned by Ezekiel Bundine on the 1st day of April 1815 lying and being with in the first District of the State of Virginia Viz the County of Russell.... five slaves of the following Description/Males 1 between 12 & 50 years of age/3 under 12 years/Females 1 between 12 & 50 years valued at one thousand Dollars." Condition: All in good condition.
