Louis-Claude de Saulces de Freycinet (1779-1842) Voyage autour du Monde... éxécuté sur les corvettes de S.M. l'Uranie et la Physicienne, pendant les années 1817, 1818, 1819 et 1820 . Paris: Imprimerie Royale for Pillet aîné, 1824-1837. (Text: 13 volumes, 4° [293 x 222mm.]); non-uniform contemporary French calf-backed marbled boards (bound to match), the flat spines divided into six compartments by horizontal rules in gilt and blind, lettered in gilt in the second and fourth compartments, the others with repeat decoration of a centrally-placed arabesque tool in blind, gilt roll-tool decoration to head and foot of spines (some scuffing to joints and extremities, head of one spine chipped). FREYCINET'S COPY OF THE WORK TO WHICH HE DEVOTED MOST OF HIS LIFE AFTER 1820.
