Housed in the appropriate Colt blue box with sleeve identifying this gun by serial number as a National Match Gold Cup in .38 Super, nickel and fire blue finish, D Master engraved, and ivory stocks. Signed "JOHN K. PEASE ENGR" under left grip for John Pease, a noted master engraver for Colt. CONDITION: As new in box, retaining virtually all of the fire blue on the small parts and only very minor storage marks to the nickel. Engraving is crisp. Ivory has good grain and is free of cracks and chips. Bore is excellent with strong rifling. Possibly gun was test fired only.
