Original limp vellum by the Doves Bindery signed in smoke 'THE · DOVES · PRESS' on the lower turn-in, spine titled in gilt (vellum slightly cockled). Provenance : Sir Emery Walker (1851-1933, inscription on rear free endpaper 'Emery Walker October 3. 1901'). LIMITED TO 315 COPIES, THIS ONE OF 15 ON VELLUM. FROM THE LIBRARY OF EMERY WALKER CO-FOUNDER OF THE PRESS. William Morris was the first book printed by the Doves Press in red and black. Ransom 'Doves' 3; Tidcombe Doves Press A DP3; Tomkinson 'Doves' 3.
