Monroe") as Secretary of State, and by David Gelston, port collector of New York; accomplished at New York, 15 September 1815. 1 page, folio, ON PARCHMENT, FINELY ENGRAVED, boldly headed "By the President of the United States," at top, two large vignettes, one of a three-masted ship under sail, the other of a lighthouse and harbor full of sailing ships, accomplished in manuscript, papered seal of the U.S. at lower left, top edge cut in scallop pattern (as usual), small hole in blank portion, parchment wrinkled . A SHIP'S PASSPORT for the Brig Tom Hazard of New York, Alexander Sutherland, Master, asking that she be granted safe passage "without any hindrance, seizure or molestation." -- ADAMS, John Quincy President . Partly printed document signed ("J.Q. Adams") as President, n.p., 1 April 1825. 1 page, oblong 4to, papered seal at lower left, engraved heading "The United States of America," accomplished in manuscript. Certifying that Martin Brunner of Ohio has registered his title to a tract of land, in Ohio under the provisions of the "Act making provision for the sale of the Public Land." Together 2 items. (2)
