Manufacturer: Rookwood Artist: Olga Geneva Reed Description: Good Rookwood Dark Iris vase with brilliant purple poppies and pale green leaves on the dark ground, painted in 1902 by Olga Geneva Reed. Another plus for the vase is a “Rookwood Museum” paper label which is only the 4th or 5th we have ever seen. Two other vases in the collection of Herbert Peck are pictured in Peck’s, “The Second Book of Rookwood Pottery” in the color plate section. Both bear the same paper label which are hand lettered with the 1902 date. We know Rookwood had many items on display that were not sold or not for sale and can only make assumptions about the “Rookwood Museum” which seems to have come about in 1902.
