Maps on sheet measuring 28x28 cm (11x11"); folded to 12.4x7.8 cm (5x3"). Scarce urban pocket map of downtown L.A. "showing Depots, County and City Buildings, Post Offices, Parks, Theatres, Etc." as well as branches (printed in red) of the Los Angeles Trust and Savings Bank. The district map on the verso shows a spaghetti of red designating the auto roads that even in 1915 were engulfing southern California, as well as, in black, the remaining electric and steam rail lines. OCLC lists three copies, at the University of Chicago, the Wisconsin Historical Society Library, and the Wisconsin Historical Society Archives (perhaps the latter two are duplicate listings of the same copy). Condition: Rust stains from the staples on the wrappers, not affecting maps; the map is pasted onto the inside rear wrapper, as issued, obscuring a small portion of the district map; very good.
