MARIN-MARIE (1901-1987). A group of 6 autograph letters, four of which are signed (“Marin”). 15 pages total, 8vo, some creasing and chips at extremities, partial loss to one of the signatures. Known simply by his pseudonym Marin-Marie, French painter, author, yachtsman, and doctor of law, Marin Marie Paul Emmanuel Durand Couppel de Saint-Front is best remembered for his art works and his solo crossings of the Atlantic. First sailing in the “Winnibelle” and then cruising in the engine-powered “Arielle”, both of these monumental voyages are described in his book. He was also the official painter of the French Navy in 1935. [With:] Wind Aloft. New York, Charles Scribner's Sons, 1947. 8vo.
